Juicy Fruiter

Juicy Fruiter
The sun is yet to peek in the high mountain ridges but a ranger's busy feet is already up trekking the misty woods of the forest, probably had donuts and coffee from a nearby shop. I would imagine a 4x4 jeep parked nearby that just recently rolled several miles from a downtown HQ where you report and send radio confirmation of your position. I'm thinking, of a uniformed ranger complete with a sidearm service weapon patrolling the area for undesirable loiters and vagabonds.

I can't help myself but to envy you. Here in our land, our rangers travel by foot covering vast area of forests. They don't have a radio to call HQ, hell they don't even have anything to protect themselves against illegal loggers who oftentimes have bodyguards with automatic rifles. Most of our countrymen who live in the countryside burn the topography for growing crops (kaingineros),that's why during rainy season, irreparable damages from flooding occur. Even precious lives are lost!

It is sad that we dip ourselves to such noble de minimis to balance the inequities excreted by human follies. It puzzles me why people try to destroy the paradise nature and stomp our neighbor's freedom to enjoy communing with nature. However far the gap of our interests, it is ironic that we share the same values.

In my next life, I know in my heart that I will be an environmentalist.

Voices : More on the Gloriagate crisis

STUPID Filipinos, why do you allow your newspapers to become your courts? Why do you allow your newspapers to weaken your nation's rule of law and therefore harm your nation and your people by trial in the press where any hearsay is fine if it sells papers? Stupid Filipino, stop it! Leave President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo alone and stop allowing fat pigs like Michaelangelo Zuce to be given respect when they have earned none. It is the court where this must be heard. And I hope to God that Gloria fights like hell, not for herself, but for the rule of law in your brain-dead nation.

Don't any of you media people care at all about your own nation? Do you hate your country so much that you let this garbage appear on your front pages every day?

-- Daniel Stafford, 8543 Emory Grove Road, Gaithersburg, Maryland

This imperialist has branded and generalized stupidity befitting all Filipinos, maybe he hasn't read much and doesn't deserve a place in the paper. Why don't you take out the stinking garbage first in your White House ('tangnamo ah) before you can even say that our country is a brain-dead nation ('tangnamo ulit!).
If your argument that we stupid Filipinos allow media and publicity to weaken our nation holds, then why in all reason and logic did you and your arrogant nation allowed the invasion of Iraq ('tangna nyo!) which further led to more radicalization of your enemies? You don't have to look further to the Philippines to see what stupidity means by appreciating what had and will transpire in Britain in the coming days. It is just a matter of time that ghosts of Hiroshima and Nagasaki will walk past your Washington (while I hope this not to happen).

Just leave us alone and let us solve this crisis all by ourselves.

... and if I may add Daniel, you have the courage to dish out vitriolic brandishments but lacks the balls to hack it by including your address. You could have received a mountain of ad hominems that may well balance your prostituted mind.

Una Palabra

I am posting this song, more of a poem to me. Only God knows how this touched my soul, almost like a tranquil journey home.

this is the translation:

A word does not say anything
and at the same time it hides it all
same as the wind that hides the water
like the flowers that hides the mud.

A glance does not say anything
and at the same time it says it all
like the rain on your face
or the old map of some treasure.

A truth does not say anything
and at the same time it hides it all
like a bonfire that does not vanish
like a stone that gives birth to dust.

If one day I don't have you, I won't be anything
because in your eyes are my wings
and the shore where I drown,
because in your eyes are my wings
and the shore where I drown.
